CliftonStrengths for Couples

Every relationship brings together two people with different ways of thinking, feeling, communicating and approaching life.

CliftonStrengths offers couples a positive way to understand what each of you naturally brings, what you each need, and how your strengths can work together within your relationship.

Rather than focusing on who is right or wrong, we become curious about your differences, appreciate what is already strong, and explore ways to build greater understanding, communication and connection.

How Couples Strengths Coaching Works

Couples strengths coaching begins with understanding each of you as an individual before bringing your strengths together as a partnership.

Individual Strengths Sessions
Each partner has their own individual session to explore their CliftonStrengths, what their strengths are like for them, what they naturally bring, and what they may need in a relationship.

Couple Session 1 — Understand Me
Share your strengths with each other and explore what you bring, what you need and why it matters, with space to really hear and understand one another.

Couple Session 2 — When Our Strengths Bump Into Each Other
Explore what can happen when strengths are overused, misunderstood, or simply approach things differently and how you can respond with greater understanding.

Couple Session 3 — Stronger Together
Discover how your strengths complement each other, what you can lean on one another for, and how you can use your strengths more intentionally as a partnership.

You can choose to continue with the couples sessions that feel useful for your relationship. There is no expectation to complete all three..

Understanding What You Each Bring

Sometimes differences between partners aren't problems to fix — they are simply different ways of thinking, communicating and responding to life.

Your CliftonStrengths profiles can help you recognise what you naturally bring, what your partner naturally brings, and what each of you may need to thrive within the relationship.

Together, we can explore how your strengths work alongside one another, where they naturally complement each other, and where differences may sometimes be misunderstood or collide.

We can also explore the “balcony” and “basement” of your strengths — when a strength is working well for you, and when it may unintentionally get in the way.

Greater awareness can support appreciation, communication and connection, while helping you understand each other with greater curiosity.
